69 speedo cable

Is it possible to change out the speedometer cable without removing the left hand dash panel? I just received a new cable from one the usual suppliers and noticed that the speedometer end does not have the screw on connector. it looks as though it must push on.

1969 uses a snap-on type connector at the instrument end, but a screw on connector at the transmission end. You might be able to remove and re-install the connector without removing the dash panel. More likely, you'll find that it's frustrating enough that removal of the dash panel will begin to sound good to you.
