I wish I could make it. I haven't been able to make any corvette function yet (Carlisle and such). Maybe one day. If anyone finds one, I'd love it if you would pass me their name or email addy.

One other thing I think I forgot to mention: if the other bolt on the car is the original-style, 2nd design bolt (i.e. completely round head with welded-on hex nut on threads), I would say that's pretty strong evidence that the "mis-matched" bolts are original to the car. I just don't see this style bolt otherwise ending up on the car. Of course, as I mentioned before, you might not want to leave it that way, but you could well be "making it non-original, so that you can make it 'original'".

      Irby,

I have an October 62 car with the hex head bolts if that helps.

        Irby,

Here's what you should be using on an early 63.

          Joe,

These are what I have. Is that a cadmium finish on the bolts or are they just a bare finish?

These were either cadmium or zinc finished, not bare steel. As I've said before, whether it's cadmium or zinc cannot be visually discerned.

              Jerry,

The front bolts on the 63E and other C-2's were all Cad plated (or zinc) but the rear bolt on 63's was not plated at all. The bracket was painted black but not the bolt. If you need I have one original and sometime can post the pic.
