Now you can laugh if you want to.

I know it looks like a bass boat. Probably the only thing that is original is the frame. Can you get a minus score?

But is a 1986 with 86,000 miles, a 383 stoker, and on a good summers day with no police around will go 154 miles an hour.

The best part is that it only cost me 5k. New tires, changed all the fluids and it rocks.

Even better, it will start outside in the cold. Brush off the snow and away you go.

Come on - I dare you to park your baby for three days in my driveway at this temperature and see if it will start.

Now I need to see if I can get the tractor started and plow the driveway.

Ahhh...It's that 383 that's got your head twirling, and who could blame you.

It was probably that last annual alternator change-out that made the previous owner decide he had changed enough alternators. He probably also put a new battery on it just to make sure potential buyers got a good impression in the cold. Don't worry...it won't be long before you'll be having "starting problems" ; but, by then, maybe the weather will be warmer. (HaHaHa... )

Only kidding you, Miles. But...I did have an 87 that fairly ate alternators. I loved it anyway; the performance of the standard TPI engine with chip impressed me. Alas, short alternator life IS a family trait for those years.
