Is there a source that can identify the original selling or invoiced dealer by
either dealer code, dealer location, etc. by VIN # for a '60 Corvette?

NICB has the name of the original selling dealer, but only law enforcement can access it, and they have to have an active case # or docket# to get in; trying to access it otherwise can be a career-limiting move.

It's a pitty because I'd love to know where mine comes from ! I have history from 1979 but no further, it's a bit hard being 10,000 miles away ! I'd love to know how many smashes it really has had !!! Stewy

Wasn't considered information worthy of archival, Stewie... The info really only had value for the period the car was in transit from the mfgr plant to the original dealer AND for warranty/service purposes. Once the warranty expired, the info was 'stale/dead'...similar to individual plates and cells from early Disney animations!

Why is this information so protected? Surely providing it has no risk of danger associated with it?
