    68 Outer window trim mouldings

Can anyone tell me where I can get a nice pair of outer window trim mouldings for my 68 vette? All the parts suppliers I checked have discontinued these parts. I have only seen used ones on ebay, but were in pretty bad shape. Also, can anyone tell me how the wheather strip fits to the moulding once it's on the door, and if it keeps the window from rattleing. I was able to find the inner window seals, but the window still rattles when it's closed. Thanks for any help! NICK

Nicholas it has been awhile since I have removed the door panels from my origianl owner 68 convertible, anyway if I remember correctly there should be two protected covered adjustments with a small wrench that can be adjusted from the door panel frame towards the window glass. You may have some adjustment here to help. Also the non abrasive covering on the two adjusters may need replacing from wear.

I believe there were two styles of outer trim moulding in 1968. One was rubber on top with felt underneath and one just felt.

Nicholas I replaced the outer seals in my 68 in 1981 with seals bought from GM #3937267 $12.10 and #3937268 $9.08.
These have the fuzzy stuff and topped by a thin piece/bead of stainless which matches the piece of stainless trim that is installed at the top of the door first.
Cannot remember that far back, but I believe the above seals have push in plugs to retain them in the top of the door. My installation does have two screws to assist in retaining them. One screw is at the end of the seal at the door opening end and the other screw is about five inches from the other end of the door.
I am replacing the outer window weatherstrip at the top of the door on my 1985 today and it has the push into the door retainers (plugs?) and has three rivet locations. One rivet location at each end and one in about the middle of the door window weatherstrip.
