    '70 LT-1 Documents

Ebay has a blue/black '70 LT-1 with pictures of a number of original documents, including a letter from Delorean, shipper, Protecto-Plate, etc., etc. The pictures of the documents are very clear and sharp and good for reference.

    Steve,
Looks like a nice example of the real deal. It took FOREVER to load, must be all the hi-res pictures. I had a heck of a time copying the photos and documents, but finally succeeded with "FastStone Capture". Price seems to be what I would think is reasonable for what it is, but with the current market, one never knows. Since it is in the Phoenix area, I am surprised that they would not be running it thru the BJ spectacle in a couple of weeks. I would think that everything being what it is it would bring asking price or possibly more, but then again, what do I know?

The description states it has a replacement CE block from 1971.

            There is a lot of documentation but there are also a lot of missing and incorrect parts on the car. Here are just a few are;
            Smog system
Exhaust manifolds pipes mufflers and tips
            Front sway bar and hardware
            Rear half shafts
            Rear strut rods
            Rear spring and hardware
            Radiator cap
            Water pump
Fuel pump to carb fuel line
            Wiper door relay
            Alternator fan and pulley

Also it looks as if someone started a poor restoration painting everything black. There are some good things like the front suspension and steering look to be original.
At the price they are asking with all these problems that we see with just photos and as Dick stated NO engine pad photos I don't know if all that documentation off sets the problems and possible other problems. This car would need a though inspection before I would consider making any offer. Just my opinion. Paul 18046

              Paul,
You are right on. In addition it has chrome rear vents and the hood stripes are all wrong.
The real question is why does a 19,000 mile car have a repaint, engine compartment cosmetic restoration and major chassis issues including lots of rattle can spray work. Somehow the story is not very credible. If it were me I'd run fast.

Possibly repainted due to some earlier body damage, left front grill incorrect, missing air dam.
Too bad about this, the documentation is quite good.

I contacted the seller through ebay to inquire about the replacement motor, figured the car might be something I wanted to view personally since it is in Phoenix area, and I am planning on attending the B-J auction in a couple of weeks. I asked that since this car seem to be so well documented that it seemed plausible to me that there would be some paperwork on the "warranty replacement" motor, and I was surprised that it was not included in the listing. here is the reply I received:

I do not have any information or paperwork on the motor replacement. Sorry

This in and of itself seems strange in my opinion.
