Can someone post a picture or explain how the capacitor is connected to the coil? Where does the bracket with the screw attach and the the wire end connect to the positive or negative sid of the coil.

See the U-69 radio option in the rear of your copy of the AIM. It gives drawings of each of the radio RF caps and their attachment...

David, Where does that condenser connect? I don't have tilt/tele, so I can't check.

Its probably the one for the ignition switch, Mounts to the lower atatching screw i believe. Should be the same as a standard column.

I have the capacitor but not the screw to hold it to the coil bracket. Can someone describe the screw for me. Phillips? Self tapping? Thank you.

I am thinking hex-head with built in washer -- yes, self-tapping. I would guess at silver color. I have it on my agenda to get some pictures before I leave for Florida. Give me a couple more days.

Terry's correct. Short, self tapping, sheet metal screw with hex head and integral washer. Fits a 1/4" nut driver and there are no head marks. Most were also slotted allowing either a nut driver or slot-head screw driver. These are off-the-shelf items at your local hardware store. No big deal...

An added thought: There is no reason to believe the coil capacitor holding screw would be any different on an LT1 than any other Corvette of the same vintage. I would be confident there was only one bin of screws for this application. It would have been refreshed occasionally and some minute details of the screw may have been different from time to time.

here are a couple pics off a spare capacitor and coil bracket that I have. I can not guarantee that it is original, but seems likely to be. It is no more than 3/8 inch long including the head.

Ding! Ding! We have a winner. Brad has it right, and I was way off base. I guess I am too used to those restobombs I have been judging.

Oval head, Phillips screw. The capacitor lead is the brass flag terminal, under the resistor wire on the + coil terminal. I thought I could easily get the capacitor off to get a picture of the bottom, but no dice on the box-type ignition shielding. That makes it harder to see, also.
