57 fuel exhaust manifold casting # question

In restoring a 57 fuel car we are looking for a replacement exhaust manikfold and have found one BUT:
Original casting number is 3733975 GM,
replacement number is 3733975 GM T (embossed). What does the recessed "T" mean? (SEE PICTURE)
Any help or things to look out for would be appreciated. thanks

Bruce-the large "T" means that this manifold was cast in Tonawanda, NY, so is not correct for any Corvette. This manifold needs to go to someone who is restoring a 1957 passenger car or pickup that was assembled east of the Mississippi River.

I am just asking, but from a judging standpoint, If you removed the "T" from the casting in a way that was not perceptible, wouldn't this pass the judging aspect??

A person could "remove" the "T", but a sharp judge could probably tell. Also, the casting date may have 57 for the year instead of just a 7 as in Saginaw castings. We don't judge the dates, but sometimes they can be seen with a mirror. I also think the shape of the Tonawanda manifolds are different than the Saginaw ones.
Bruce-let me know if you need one, as I've got several.

Wayne: He is interested in his options for replacing his left exaust manifold. He has a late 57 fuel 4sp car April I think. Do you hve any with dates for this range and what are you asking. thanks Bruce
