    Export Info Wanted

    I am still working on trying to find someone who has any information on General Motors Corporation - Foreign Distributors Division located at 234 West 57th Street New york, NY 10019 back in the 60's.
    Any info will help. We all know that St Louis disposed of all it records but did the Foreign Distributors Division do the same??????
    Interesting question..................

    Dick -

    I believe that outfit was later re-named GMODC (General Motors Overseas Distribution Corporation), as a subsidiary of GMOO (General Motors Overseas Operations). Overseas stuff re-organized about twice a year back in those days; lots of folks were shuffled off to that operation and "disappeared" career-wise.

      Hello John;
      When you heard of someone getting a transfer to GMODC/GMOO was it the end of their career w/ GM ? Like a trip to the woodshed?
      Apparently you survived.

      And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
      I hope you dance

        For many, it was the "plateau" of their career; you just never heard of them again in the mainstream business.

        I left in 1985, right after the infamous Roger Smith Reorganization that started the "great decline".

          Dick, General Motors Overseas Operations was one of the divisions that was contacted when I did the "mother" of all searches within GM for the Corvette records. And their response was nata,none, zilch.
