    Export Prep 69 Corvette

I droped the gas tank on a 69 Corvette, T top, Base engine 350/300, 3 speed, Red Vinyl 407 interior with Lemans Blue exterior. This color combo is not listed and is a trim color override on the tank sticker. There are also RPOs for EXPORT PREP, EXPORT TIRE TAX, AND TAX STATUS TAXABLE. AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK STICKER IT SAYS PORTLAND ORGON. The Zone and Dealer code show a dealer in New jersy, Mohenk Chevrolet in East Rutherford, NJ. I have never seen this can some educate me on this. I see Terry Michalis mentions export prep as being very rare in a blog. I assume it was a car being sent to Germany or ?? for a service man, probably wanted a red white and blue car, looks like the first Grand Sport edition. Having trouble resizing picture. Can email to have reviewed, or can someone tell me how to resize picture..
The RPO codes are as follow: 02ZD2AA TRIM AND COLOR OVER RIDE
RPO 02ZX2AA EXPORT PREP, RPO 02ZY5AA EXPORT TIRE TAX, 02ZY6AA TAX STATUS TAXABLE

Since I rarely use the term "rare" when referring to a Corvette, I would like to know where you found that comment. I can not tell you how much I dislike that over-used and meaningless term.

Your Corvette may have never left the country. There was a stroy in The Corvette Restorer by Ray Wolson about this very subject.

On my days off, it is rare for me to work on my Corvette before 9:00 AM.

I lived in the town next to East Rutherford for 15 years during the late 60's and 70's and I can tell you there was no Mohenk Chev. anywhere in the area. I fact I have lived in Jersey all my life and have never heard of that dealer before. If Mohenk Chev. was in East Rutherford I would think it was just a office in a building somewhere.

Ed thanks for the post. I have no idea if there was a Mohenk Chevrolet, I have never been to NJ. However, the dealer code for this car is 001 with a zone code of 79. According to the files on this site, dealer and zone codes, the dealership was in East Rutherford NJ and was called Mohenk Chevrolet.
