57 Beige Carpet

I have a Cascade Green car with a beige interior -- All Knoch stuff, but this week I saw a beatutiful 57 car same color as mine with a carpet from a company called Auto Custom Carpets Inc. The car owner stated the Knoch carpet was wrong color, not quite right material, whereas the carpet he had from ACC was much closer to original color and Daytona weave. It also costs about twice what Knoch gets. Problem is I have the Knoch carpet already and not sure its worth it; I have not yet installed it. Input?

I felt the same way about his 55 carpet , and 57 seats, I buy from classic Chevy international years ago there more into 55-57 correct color and material.

I buy ACC carpeting through Zip Products. Did our 63 coupe 2 years ago with no problems.

Just the other day I finished new ACC tuxedo carpeting in my 59.
Words of caution. I was disappointed when I discovered that they cut the drivers side floor piece wrong. It was 2 1/2" too long at the joint of the floor section to sill step section. Somehow they cut it wrong(my luck I guess). They(thru my Zip rep) asked me to send it back along with my original piece. They emailed me a UPS call ticket. Took a few days to get it all back.

They unfortunately didn't get the correct dimension of the heel pad though. The heel pad should be 7 1/4" x 17" rectangular. Mine was about 7 1/4" wide at one end, and about 8" at the other end by the gas pedal. I left well enough alone, but would likely get a judging hit if they took out the tape measure.

FYI, ACC does not stock carpet sets, they build to order. If you get it from them I would get confirmation that the oddities that I had will not happen to you.

both Al Knoch and ACC will send you samples on request. just recently got sample of 55 vinyl from Al and years ago, Vickie at ACC sent me a sample of 57 red rug. she is no longer with ACC. good luck,mike
