Re: Too much money and no common sense !!!!
Tom,
My opinion of your car as you describe it is that, it sounds like a great car that would be a real hoot to drive, which I gladly would if ever given the opportunity. I also think it is great that you have done to it "what you wanted', so you can throughly enjoy it, which I bet you do. If it is the car next to your name on your postings, it is also a very sharp looking car to me. I can see you have been a member for a very long time, and can somewhat understand your attitude with SOME of the individuals you have run into in the organization over the years. With an group as large as the NCRS, you will never get everyone to agree on topics such as this (as well shown in the thread started by Roy Braatz concerning people driving the older cars). I am right there with you with the belief that everyone can and should do with their cars, what makes them get the most enjoyment out of them, without any consideration given to what anyone else thinks about it. Given all that I would hope that you would give some of us a break when it comes to "being a thorn in the side", as there are a great many of us who agree with you whole heartedly on this issue.
While I personally could not be in more agreement with the mission statement of what the NCRS is about, nowhere I have I ever seen any published material from the NCRS as a whole that stated members who have modified cars are not a welcome part of the group. I have met and heard some individuals who feel that way, and that has at times "soured" me also, but not at the group as a whole, mostly with those who make those types of statements. I am not offended by this, as much as I disagree with it. So please do not think of us all in this way. I am betting that this thread will get quite a few postings and opinions in the coming days, much like Roy's thread recently.
