In the event someone is interested there is a 1958 Corvette Fuel Injection unit with the distributor for sale on Craigslist. To see it go to the state of Michigan and select the city of Holland. Then type in 1511970459, it shows four pictures. Or call (616) 335-5846. The asking price is $5500.00. The owner claims to have had it for forty years. I live nearby and stumbled on it while looking at Corvettes for sale.

Re: 58 Corvette Fuel Injection Unit For Sale
Interesting.
I don't think I've ever seen a Corvette in his driveway.
My parents live about 2 1/2 miles north of him, and I've driven by his home frequently.
If anyone needs an inspection, let me know.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

The only part I ever sold was a complete 1958 900R fuel injection unit. Actually, I only "half sold" it because I only owned a 1/2 interest in it. From appearances, it was in at least as good a condition as this one. It appeared to be a VERY early take-off which, at the time in about 1992, had been stored for years. We paid $1300 for it and sold it within a week for $2500.
I really regret now selling it. I should have bought out my partner and kept it. I'd still have it now [and I would NOT be selling it].In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 58 Corvette Fuel Injection Unit For Sale
I'm not inferring anything about the owner of the FI injection unit but wasn't there a post not so long ago about a 58 FI unit being stolen, maybe we should compare the numbers.

Re: 58 Corvette Fuel Injection Unit For Sale
Would that distributor he has be correct for a low rpm 58 car? My car either had the 230hp, 245hp or the 250hp fuelie.
I know it wasn't a 270hp or 290hp due to the lower rpm tach.- Top

Brandon-----
FI distributors are unique to FI-equipped cars. The basic distributor would be the same for either 1958 fuel injection engines, but definitely not the same as for other engines. I suspect that the advance characteristics of the 250 hp or 290 hp distributors were different, but that's something easily changed.
Also, you don't think that this fellow would be willing to sell the distributor separately, do you? I think the only way that would happen would be if someone offered him way more than the distributor was worth. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 58 Corvette Fuel Injection Unit For Sale
That is a 250 distributor. You can tell because it has vacuum advance. The 290 was pure mechanical (1110914).
Unit looks to be a 1958 7014900 based on the numbers. They are rare...
