      Looks like a scam, Joe.

      If you entered with your '85 at a $5k entry fee, you would probably be guaranteed the fourth place prize of a set of steak knives, maybe third place for the Z51 Corvette (model).

          Looks legit. I got a postcard advertisement in the mail.
          They want to see applicants' SCCA or other amateur road race certification before they will accept any entry (including the deposit).
