    70 wiper door stop finish

I read the JM and it indicates that the L bracket that the stop screws in to is natural steel. Upon disassembly and inspection, it looks like it was bright zinc under where the screws were.

Should it be natural or bright zinc? I am getting ready to send a bunch of stuff out to be replated.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Bill, my 72 has a natural L shaped bracket and adjuster with a zinc plated jam nut. the screws that attach the bracket or black oxide.

Thanks. I am going to see if I get some more responses. I like the idea for something other than natural to prevent rust.

Bil, maybe take a look at Patrick H. bowtie car pic.s maybe theres a pic of the wiper linkage of that side of the engine compartent, I did put a satin clear over those pieces that were natural to keep the rust from coming back.

            Hi Terry,

That is what mine looked like. I guess the natural steel under the screws was just a little shiny.

            Thanks.

Not to get away from the OP's question but where do you adjust it exactly? I noticed when I took the engine out of my 68 and took all that off etc..it doesn't shut all the way like it did before I took the engine out and had that grill off right there. The wiper door assembly nearly shuts flat but not quiet.

The zinc from the screws could have bonded to the bracket and when the screws came out the zinc stayed ont he bracket.

                  Terry,

                  That makes total sense.

                  Thanks
