Rebound Straps

Is there someone out there that can lend me or rent me the correct tool to install the rivets on my rebound straps? I am restoring a 58. If not, will the tool from Paragon do the job correctly? I tried to use a modified "c" clamp, but, the head of the rivet wants to slip out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

many of the ncrs chapters have bought the mongoose tool and lend it to their members. check with gary chesnut.mike

Jim, here's link to the "mongoose" rivet tool thread. Also, take a look at Corvette Central's new rivet tool. Saw it last year at the Florida Regional and looks like it'll work just fine. Cost is about $30 bucks. Can send you some photos of the one I made from a heavy duty C clamp and Joe Calcagno's (sp?) website with rebound strap how to info. Gary....
