"A" stamp in Surge Tank Strap, 1961
I believe I have the original surge tank and strap in my 1961 because I purchased the car from the original owner. However, the strap does not have an "A" stamped in the strap. Do all original equipment 1961 surge tank straps have an "A" stamped in them? I hate to buy a repro strap with an "A" stamp just because the Judging Guide says there is supposed to be an "A" stamp when I believe I already have the original strap without an "A" stamp installed on the car.

Is there an "A" stamp on the straps for a 62 as well? If so, where at on the strap? Any pics?

i have several original straps and not all of them are stamped on the top where you can see them. 2 of them are stamped on the bottom, i always wondered how they would judge them correctly, i guess it's like having to take off the top shield, i never liked needing tools to have my car flight judged.Comment

Thanks for this input. I guess I will have to take a close look at the underside of my strap to see if an "A" stamp is present there.
