Confusion on Master Cylinder Number (CSSB versus NCRS)

I bought a new power brake GM licensed Delco master cylinder from CSSB. I installed it in my 71 LT-1 over a year ago and am now checking everything out for NCRS Judging. I have now noticed that the master cylinder from CSSB has the number 5460346 and PG. I checked the 1970-72 Corvette Technical Manual & Judging Guide and it states the number should be 5480346. My corvette has a serial number of 108084. Now I am wondering who is correct. Should the third number be a 6 or an 8? I hope the manual is wrong.
    Thanks Paul

Several threads have been posted on this over the last several years. I think that if you will go to this link https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...60346&uid=6733

    you will find your answers

        Paul,
The thread in the archives was one that I submitted prior to my 1970 (6450) Corvette being judged in Sevierville, TN in October, 2009. My master cylinder was also a 5460346. When the car was judged, it passed with no deductions and the judge commented that the master cylinder looked great. One word of caution, make sure the "PG" area is bare cast iron and the face of the bosses where the brake lines connect are bare cast iron (no black paint). The cylinder was painted before final machining in these areas. Duane Dunlap

          Duane:

Jut checked mine and it looks good. Any other advice on judging or places to watch. Plan on having my 1971 judged next spring.
          Thanks
          Paul

            Hi Paul,
A good suggestion on approaching judging is to start at the beginning and make sure to get ALL the points for the Operations section. You can really control that and the deductions really add up quickly if you have a couple of things not working properly (like the windshield washer).
            Merry Christmas
            Regards,
            Alan

Paul, get the latest JM and download the Judging Sheets, then Judge your car to the letter of the JM. Alot of Judges tell the Owners during their introductory welcome that the owner should know their car better than any Judge. Enjoy the Judging and good luck. Gary....
