    Judging versus Documentation

I own a 67 roadster which came with GM documentation (Build Sheet).
When I purchased the car there were some additional options installed on the car already.
I am now restoring the interior with new seats and door panels in accordance with the proper colors on the trim tag. I also want to install headrests which are obviously not on the documentation.
Would this affect the way the car would be judged and also would it affect the price/value of the car since its not exact to the build sheet.

    Thanks

Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder, never forget that. In the NCRS world which many of us often get caught up in, there is no doubt in my mind that a documented car which is preserved or restored in the configuration the documentation indicates it was originally built too has the most value. However, keep in mind the NCRS world is a very very, very, very small piece of the puzzle, some 15,000 plus families. If you assumed 2.2 per family of an age where the disposable income might exist for a investment purchase that could be 33,000 people. The US population is currently 305 million if 1% were a potential purchaser that would be almost 10 times as many as NCRS. With that said I personally believe a collector investment is more valuable in its original configuration.

Jim -- as to the headrests, if your car has a St. Louis body (trim tag, 'BODY' coded Sxxxx), and your car has OTHER than a black (leather or vinyl) interior, the initial presence or absence of headrests (option A82) will show up on the 'TRIM' code suffix. So it will be NCRS-judged on this basis, not on whether or not you have the build sheet.
