Was the 63 warranty book inserted in the glove box by the factory or the dealer? What about the owners manual and envelope?

Re: 63 Warranty Book insaetion?
It was inserted in the car in St. Louis. That procedure began during mid production 1961. Prior to that they were filled out and inserted in the cars by the selling dealer.- Top

Re: 63 Warranty Book insaetion?
Still, the delivering dealer had to remove the warranty book from its factory shipped packaging to fill out the information pertaining to date of sale and original owner. A copy was sent to GM to record the warranty registration and the original warranty booklet was returned to the car for delivery to the new owner...
Judges will look for this literature (warranty book & owners manual) to be in the car's glove box along with the other related new car items (spare key set, Etc.).- Top

Re: 63 Warranty Book insaetion?
Here's the AIM list of items to be placed in I.P. compartment at the St Louis assy plant.
This is a scan of one of the last sheets for the 63 model year so a few of the items/numbers have changed.
Note that there is only ONE warranty/Owner Protection Plan booklet. No 2nd or separate warranty was included.Last edited by Michael H.; January 23, 2010, 10:18 PM.- Top

Re: 63 Warranty Book insaetion?
Few 63-64, etc owners ever have all the items in the glove box that are on the aims. For example: Envelope that held the license plate hardware is never seen. Never figured out why someone didn't reproduce that envelope.
Michael Hanson stated a mouth full. Read his last line of his post with the nice aims pic.
63-64 did not have a separate owner protection plan and warranty booklet. It's all ONE booklet as MH stated.- Top
