Early 66 Odometer Reset Cable Ends

Finishing up my dash and have been wading thru my parts pile and I found several reset cable versions. I have one with both end fittings aluminum, on with both fithings brass and one with the knob end brass and the speedo fitting aluminum.

Any idea of what is correct for the early 66?

Greg -- this is (temporarily) off a very late '65 [ back of cluster stamped Jul 26 1965]; in fact the next cluster was installed in a '66 .

As you can see, the only brass part is the long hex; the rest is aluminum.

Hi Greg,

Just pulled my cluster out of storage to answer another thread, so I figured I'd look at the reset cable too. My cable is identical to the one shown in Wayne's thumbnail. The total length with rubber knob installed is 15 1/2" inches. My '66 was built late November '65. Her cluster date is: Nov 12 1965. Hope this helps.
