Re: Corvette Quarterly
Are back issues worth anything?
I have back issues (Corvette News) going back to about 75(???). I have accumulated so much "stuff" over the years, and I never look at it and I'm considering throwing some of it in the trash to clear off some bookshelf space, and those will be the first to go.
A few years ago, I boxed my Vette Vues (back to about 74), put them in the attic and haven't looked at them since. I should have thrown them away also.
I've also tossed a bunch of Chevy Hi-Performance and Super Chevy.
HOTRODs are boxed up back to 68 up in the attic and I never look at them either, they need to be tossed.
I'll probably keep the RESTORERs (back to 79) and SACCs (very first-SACE) and all my shop manuals for a while.- Top

Before throwing the magazines out..check with your local library to see if they have any interest.
The very early Corvette News Vol.1 and Vol.2 have considerable value..later issues not too much monetary value ( but new members to the Corvette Hobby may enjoy them ). The sounds of Duntov record in the 61 issue is very desirable.
I have every National Geographic for the past 57 years and more and I doubt they are worth much..except for all the great photo's and history.
The last 20 years or so in leather bound cases..which makes for a nice library display.
Now that everything is going or already digital..I suspect hardcopy collections will be disposed of in many cases.

Re: Corvette Quarterly
I doubt many of us will live long enough, but I would expect one day the paper versions of these magazines will be regarded as quaint collectors items that only the well-off will be able to afford.Terry- Top

Re: Corvette Quarterly
Guys,
Before throwing magazines away you might want to check with your local VA hospital, a lot of their patients are car guys. Our local Elks club would collect them and take them over to our nearest VA facility.

Tom, you may want to consider selling them to Miller or one of the literature guys. It sounds as if you have enough to pay for the bearings, a set of good tires and a bit more. Also, a donation to the NCM is an option so many can have access to them.
I have in excess of 50 Bankers' Boxes full of just auto magazines. Oddly (my wife's word, not mine) I go through them regularly and enjoy them alot.
