When was the hood support moved to the driver side on small block cars with C60?

Re: '65 Hood Support Location
No 65 car had provisions on the LH side for a hood stand, unless it was very, very, very late. So, I would say if is not likely that any 65 had a LH hood support. That would have be a 66 thing.- Top

Re: '65 Hood Support Location
All 1963-67 small blocks with or without factory air had the hood support on the passengers side (right side). Big blocks (with or without air) got the left hand hood support for 1966 and 1967.

It did happen for a period of 66. I have never established an exact time frame.- Top

Re: '65 Hood Support Location
Thanks for the clarification......and yes, I agree that early 1966 big blocks can have the right hand hood support until the existing 1965 inventory was depleted. It only makes sense.

Re: '65 Hood Support Location
There is a picture in Nolan Adam's book on page 338 that show the reclocation of the small block hood supports on 1966 air condition cars to the drivers side. Also a write up on page 339.

Re: '65 Hood Support Location
The write up is a little confusing in Noland's book. In one place he indicates that only some of them were converted. In another he says all with SB were converted. I personally don't think all were, just some during the change over process.- Top

Floyd, Wayne, and Page:
Thanks for the clarifications and info from Noland's Book.
When I posted my reply a few days ago, I researched the 1963-64, 1965, and 1967 Judging Manuals as well as relying on my own 1967 factory AC small block car and experiences. I did not have a 1966 JM to check, since I loaned my old copy out and the new ones aren't yet available. So I assumed that 1966 would be similar to 1965 and 1967. This was wrong. I hope this issue is adequately addressed in the new 1966 Judging Manuals so we can all learn more.
When replying to Wayne's comment about some supports being on the passenger side for a period in 1966, I thought that he was referring to some of the VERY EARLY 1966 big blocks that might have gotten leftover 1965 big block hoods with the support on the passenger side.
Sorry if I confused or complicated the issue.
