68 grill bracket color and rivit

Could someone tell me if the rivits on this bracket are original? And what color should the brackets be. . The rivits on the other side are regular pop rivits so I know they are replaced. I also saw in the history posts that the rivits will be painted, as the brackets were put on before paint. So mabey the overspray is from the factory. I don't want to mess them up thanks.

Your car looks original. The bracket was in place at painting, so body color and black out appear correct.

It looks like body color overspray on the wires in the first picture, but it could be a reflection. I can assure you there was no body color overspray on the wires at the factory. Well maybe I should say it is unlikely there was body color overspray on the wires from the factory.

No, someone used alum pop rivits on the drivers side. There must have been a earler repair. It's interesting that the drivers side on you're car can't be seen?

Yes that is overspray on the wires also. I found that the car was repainted 13 years ago. I think all the overspray is new. I wasn't shure if i should repaint the brackets to clean them up, or leave them alone.

Does anyone else have a picture of the underside of the drivers side? Or pictures of both undersides?

Are the rivits still avalable, if not what is a exceptable replacement for judging. I have seen the rivits that look like them but have a nut on the inside.
