Re: Rip Bill Scott
Mike,
I can't remember meeting Bill Scott but probably did durning the mid eighty's. I along with some other Bel Air Corvette club members used to go to Summitt Point with our Corvettes.
The track had open days and we were allowed to run our cars on the track. Thank God for street tires as that was the limiting factor for my car. No way I was going around those turns with a good head of speed.
I guess now a days you can't use the track like back then becacuse of liability. I once saw a guy I believe in a Porsch go down the long front straight and no brakes into turn one.. The brake fluid must have boiled and the car went straight over the embankment and flipped. Not Good... To put it into perspective, if you have never been there the straight is about 3/4 mile long..
That may have been the end of open track days I just can't remember..to many brews ago..
RIP Bill Scott and thanks..- Top
