      Roy and Pat;
      Right on with your postings.
The Corvette hobby is suposed to be fun so it never hurts to get off the technical subject once in a while.
Here is picture some people might laugh at, my latest vehicle.
A 67 BB (that is baby block, 1641 cc).
Have fun, the technical stuff will always be there.

Maybe the next Donner Party will be at Roys house.
        Lets hope not.

          Bruce,

I did mine in college, and sold it when I bought my 71. Picture below is 1994.

            Steve,
After I get off the roof should I put my snowtires on my Corvette?

              Patrick,
              Nice VW.
When I recently sold one of my 62 Corvettes I was happy that the garage was not stuffed with cars and was comfortable. I still have my 57, 62 and 65.
Then for some reason (my sons influence) I wanted an aircooled VW.
Found this one and what a learning experience. It has been lots of fun and parts seem almost free the prices are so low compared to Corvettes.
As a friend told me "diversity in the garage is good".
And like Corvettes the VW forums are a valuable resource.
By the way it is starting to snow in Southern Ohio.

It's always great fun to know a little more about all of you......and Rick, I won't complain about my backyard cougar looking for "cats as dinner" anymore after seeing your snow. Unlike snow, I can shoot at the cougar and make it go away.

I don't think Roy refers to nor calls his car "Baby".
                  Best regards,

I was talking to some of the MidAmerica people when they bought "Tweeks" and went into the VW parts business. At the time I told them generally speaking, that the worst Corvette repro was better than the best VW repro. I'm not sure if it still holds true or not. At the time (87-89) I purchased a lot of Bugpack items for my car and they seemed to be the best. The nice thing was that virtually all the VW parts were still available through VW - if you wanted to pay the stiff dealer price.

I've thought about another VW as a project, but with the poor heat, rust and lack of power it just doesn't seem like something I want to do. I enjoyed my project but enjoyed my 71 Corvette much more. So, the VW went goodbye.

It did teach me a lot about car repair, though.
