1962 suspension

Can someone tell me what finish the rear strut rods on a 62 is supposed to be? Natural? Black? Bushings painted? And also the finish on the tie rods and tie rod sleeves.

Natural, with all kinds of paint codes, but then well coated with a liberal coating of black coating to eliminate all the pretty stuff. On an original car you generally don't see it until you are cleaning and get thru a layer or two of the black coating. I won't dignify it as being paint.
