'63 RH or LH power brake vacuum line?

What are the '63 VIN number break off points for the power brake booster to have either a RH or LH vacuum port position?

Are there any markings on the same hose?

Gene, My #3505 has the drivers side port. I know it to be orig. You once told me that my master cyl. cover should have a wing nut instead of a bolt and deducted a point for it and that the #3 JG manual was wrong and that there were 6 63 JG's. I'm still waiting for #6! Then you told me " That's the way it is" when I told you there were only 3 at the time. I neaver forget when a judge is WRONG! My 2007 Duntov came with no points deduction for the master cyl. cover bolt! Good luck with your booster and I mean it! stan 19259

        Gene,

There was only one power brake booster used for all 63's. The tab number is 2574 and the vacuum port is on the outboard side.

A typical 63 PB vacuum hose would be ink stamped "SWAN".

agree with mike. all 63 PB equipped vette vac hose feeds outboard of the master cyl. the only other GM car i've seen, in a junkyard, with identically configured PB booster was a 63 buick Riviera.mike

            Thank you Mike and Mike.
Sounds clear that the 64 style power brake booster was never cut in on the end of 63 model year. Right?

Correct. The #2574 was the only booster ever used for all 63 Corvettes.

Hey Mike (any) what is you thoughts of two boosters used as per our new fifth edition judging guide, and for that matter the numbers stamped per the JG Phil 8063

I don't think there were two different boosters used for 63. In fact, I'm pretty sure there weren't. Delco Moraine doesn't think so either. They're pretty sure too. In all the paperwork I have from those folks, there is no mention of any tab number other than the 2574 for a 63 Corvette, no matter what other brake option the car may have.

I've recorded the tab number on a LOT of unrestored 63's over almost four decades and I've never seen anything other than the #2574 booster that I felt was original.

                        Harry,

It's not from my car so I don't know how to tell if it's early or late other than the thumb screw.

Isn't that kinda late for a thumbscrew on a P/B car? I thought the change to the hex-head bolt came much earlier.
