On one of my early postings I showed how to tell a original speed and tack cable from a repro. By the coloring of the housing (dark and light) wrapping. Mary Joe is selling the original one, housing only but you can find the inner cable . She must also know the difference by color. Just thought I would mention it for those that care.

I had one of those cables on my 59 a long time ago. PO had a 55-58 generator setup(mounted left side) when I bought my 59 in 1986. Right side had incorrect manifold with no mount ears. I bought a correct GM right manifold from the Chevy dealer and changed the mount to the right side in 1995 during engine rebuild. I took the original long cable just like this one and sold it for about 10 bucks in a Driveline ad......along with my original dual-four air cleaner for about 15 bucks. Wish now I hadn't done that.

Fl. Was great while we were there ,now home we have 40degrees , I love your state but cant see living there , when the ground moves here in Ca.we just stand still till it's over. I see few restored Corvettes having the correct original cables anymore , repro's RULE.

I see after I posted the cable it's now at $52.00 and 17 bids on it .I may just sell a couple I have on e-bay . It's nice to see people wonting a original cable over a repro.( just got the 56-57 JM and see they memtion the light dark color GREAT) Some day it may be noted in the JM. For the 55 if the JM ever gets started
