Stewy, I enjoy your stories. In the late 1960's I know someone who shipped a red, '59 or '60 I believe, that had a 348 or 409 engine to Australia or New Zealand from California. Do you know of this car?

I believe myself that there is a few C1's in garages over here that are never driven. I would suspect that the car would have been converted to right hand drive back when our road laws made people convert all cars. I have seen a rhd car in red a million years ago but never appeared again. I hit all the shows and I seem to be the only goose with a C1 around here. Australia is a large place and it could be hiding anywhere. There has been a couple pop up at the odd car shows recently and seem to be growing by one to 2 cars a year. I saw a 58 U.S. top flight car about 6 years ago and have never seen it since ? I would love to run into him so I could get his number and get some photos of wiring and so forth. These cars seem to be shy when they get over here. Stewy

I'm like you Stewy. I like to see em driven. When I got my 58 this spring I had to do all kinds of stuff to it to get running again cause the owner before me drove it 30 miles in the last 4 yrs he owned it, & it was not a museum piece by any means.

Is that the headlight knob over next to the fuel/temp gauge pod?

No that's the ejector seat button !!!! Roy there is a few early C1's over here and I have a mate who lives around the corner that has a Blue, tan interior it's top flight with a blue flame and really nice best colour I have seen. I also have another guy who has a top flight polo I have only seen it out once we had a massive storm it got drenched so I'm thinking it aint coming out for a while I took this photo before the storm.

I believe Murray Foreman put together his two cars. He is the Australian NCRS Chief. Faultless assembly !! Magnificent cars and is a rarity over here. Stewy

Was that a special option added for James Bond?

We only use that button when we get the mother inlaw next to us and she starts to winge about the fast driving. The one on the right is oil spray we use that when being tailed by the mother inlaw before we go parking !!! Stewy

                        Stewy,
An NCRS member in Melbourne has a '54 that was being restored and it may be complete by now. I believe they did the body off/body on at Murray's place. I recall that we judged a an Oz Chapter member's black C1 ('57 or '58?) at the first Aussie Chapter Meet, owner is likely is from the SYD area.
                        Best regards,

I always used the oil spray to ward off the cops when they were closing in.

Charlie that was the car Murray put together. Lou Rokas owns it and a 66 BB both flighted I think last year ! Stewy
