    Hey......what's going on here?

Good Sunday evening all. Am soon to start the restoration of the outer door stainless and wipes on my '66 roadster. Interestingly enough the wipes on each stainless are attached differently. One wipe is attached with staples which I thought was the norm....the other is attached with a factory rivet. What goes here?

I restored mine on a 65 roadster and both were stapled.
    Maybe a left over.

Left over from what? Which is considered the norm? Factory staple or factory rivet? Curious thing to see one of each style on the same car.

        Michael,

both are correct. I usually see one or the other. Do you have reason to think one was replaced. In the picture only the upper piece has blue overspray. I would put them back as they were.

During one of the cars many paint jobs, painter got sloppy and got blue paint on trim. The other was relatively free of paint.

Rich, are you saying, restore them with rivets and one and staples in the other ?

If you make them match you will have left over holes on the one you change. I would leave them as is thats the cars personality. But if you decide to make them match it will be undetectable when they are installed.
