67 grille- how to tell an original?

I read an archive post regarding grille rivets from Gerry Fuccillo. It was a good post, however his rivet is apparently the exception, not the rule. Can anyone tell me how to tell if a grille is original or not in a 67 St. Louis car? I believe the repro's are decent, and want to make sure I am looking at an original grille. Any pics would be beyond helpful...Thanks in advance. ARA

Ara, you may already know this but you can still buy a new '67 grille from GM Parts Direct. It has the same part # as the AIM. I bought one of these and I could not see any difference between my original grille, which had a couple mounting tabs broken off and the new one below. Since GM still sells it, I would not consider it a repop. PT

Thanks Pat. I should have said in my post how to tell if it's an original that IS IN A CAR. Meaning if it's the original grille that came in the car. I wasn't too clear in my original post. I am looking at a car and want to know if I am looking at it's original grille. I know there are tell tale signs with the mounting rivets, color, shape, etc. Thanks for the post ARA

Ara -- here's a link to a similar post from last August. 1966 and '67 originals should be the same. I don't know if the currently available GM's have these casting marks.
