    62 FI engine

AIM on sec 582, sheet 9, illustrates an idler pulley, and DOUBLE groove pulleys on the harmonic balancer and the water pump. The 5th edition 61-2 judging manual, on page 77, states no original examples exist to substantiate dual fan belts and pullys. i tend to agree with the judging manual. my question, if the idler was not used on the 340 and 360 HP engines, did they have single or double groove pulleys originally? thanks, mike

I have a late '62 340. I bought this car from a fellow that had it since 1968. The only thing that was not original to that car was the water and fuel pump.

It has a single groove pulley.

          Mike:

          It's a five quart pan.

Based on Mike's definition of 5 or 6 quart, I think it's a 6 quart. Refill is 5 plus one for the filter.
