70 cross shaft

I am in the process of rebuilding the cross shaft. I noticed that there is a vender with "leather coated" seals. The factory used felt seals. Does the leather coated work better? Is there a better way to seal than felt seals?

What years will work for the ball stud on the frame side? I see different vendors breaking down the years differently.
