    C3 Antenna Cable - 1974

I will be replacing my antenna cable this winter. The AIM and other sources are unclear as to the easiest way to disconnect the old antenna cable from the antenna and connect the new cable.
Can I remove the antenna and bezel from the fender on top and pull the whole assembly up through the hole to disconnect the cable or do I have to do the work from underneath? How does the antenna cable connect to the antenna - is it a screw fitting or does it clip on? If working from underneath do I have to remove the left side muffler?

I believe you are going to have to go at this unit from the bottom side. Removing the muffler will most likely make your life much easier !!

The cable is not removeable from the antenna base. If you are good you can pull the new cable into position with the antenna mast. Buy the long cable so it can run under the sill plate and over the steering column. Vendors also sell a short cable that must run under the rear carpet that was used in 74? and up.

Man, I had total brain lock on this one. I had power antenna on the brain for some reason and was thinking of the drive on that. I know your car doesn't have a power antenna. Just wasn't thinking. Listen to Lyle, not me.
