Hi Loren,
It interests me to pursue this so that a physical example of Corvette's earliest attempt at a disc brake can be shared with all of those in our hobby. What else would I do with 50 year old brakes?
I'm not sure why you seem to be cynical about this? I have no angle other than to share this find with others.
If I'm not mistaken,this is the most watched and followed thread currently on the NCRS website. It is apparently of interest to others also, regardless of it's final purpose. They, like you , have contributed to that process of sharing the past, and I appreciate those contributions.
My feeling is, it is one more connection to the evolution of the Corvette.

Do/have any of you seen or have a copy of the Chevrolet Engineering Work Order # 17725?

Hi Art, No ,I haven't seen it but I'd love to. As you will see in my reply to Loren, my goal is to re-assemble a physical example for all to enjoy. If these brakes were worse than standard original drum brakes, there's no way I'd use them on any car of mine unless the display was static.
