    '67 KO's...........and Hitler's car

A Russian billionaire tracked down and purchased Hitler's midnight blue 1935 Mercedes 770K open top convertible. Price was said to be 8.3 million dollars.

A set of original KH '67 KO's goes for 30K on ebay (several years ago).

Wondering if both of the above break a 'world record,' of sorts, for car related stuff.

i recall the bugatti royale, once owned by a neighbor, selling for 13 million about 10-15 years ago. the neighbor sold it to harrahs for 60K in the early 60's. it was stored in the sewers of paris during ww2. mike

Last weekend I did a tour of the sewers of Paris. They were pretty large and were very dry. Quite a series of tunnels. All the sewage runs through large pipes.

i believe that's the one bought by the domino's owner. i saw it at an atlantic city auction in the early to mid 90's. it was on display, not for sale. i remember it being at the neighbor's estate when i was a kid. the neighbor was responsible for Cumberland getting the SCCA nationals in the early 50's.he was on a first name basis with shelby, gulstrand, penske, dr thompson et al. he was a cantankerous pathologist. Dr. benedict skitarelic was his name. he bought a new rolls royce after the bugatti was sold to harrah. we had him at a MAC NCRS meet at our farm in the early 80's. his daughter was a guest at the National Road Rally autocross this past summer. she too is a pathologist at WVU. Damn, i'm geting old. mike

I know within the past 2 years that Pro-Team sold a set of KO's with non-DOT red lines for 30 G's on E-bay - no matter how the economy is going it's nice to have money.

Hold on to your hat because prices for serious cars and
rare real parts are going to sky rocket to prices never even
              dreamed of.

The Mercedes allegedly used by Rommel is also in the US, but in dilapidated condition. It has not been restored because the owner doesn't think that with its notoriety he would recover the cost of restoration.

Perhaps he should now rethink that position....

67 knockoffs??? Wow! no wonder they are so expensive. I didn't know there was such a thing.
