58 To Zerk or not to Zerk

The judging reference manual for 58-60s states that the universal joints do not have zerk fittings, however the owners manual for my 58 states that each universal joint has one fitting for 2 total on the car?

They are not supposed to have them for judging.

My '59 definitely had grease fittings in the original u-joints.
