L 76 Air Cleaner Cover Dimensions
I'm about to send my cover out to be re-chromed and silk screened, but I'm not sure if it's original. It has the rolled lip in the center hole. The roll is approx. 1/16"-3/32" wide and a bit flattened with 2 or 3 splits in the roll. The dia. of the cover is 15 1/4", yet the judging guide states it should be "approx. 15 1/2" in dia." Is that close enough? Are there any specific dimensions for the outer edge, its height, and how it is shaped? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Joe -- here's an original lid off a '64 or '65 [same for base, L75 or L76]. The '65 TIM&JG calls for the same "approx" diameter, and that may be close if measuring over the bulge (top side); but lying on the flat it is 15_3/16".
You can see the splits in the rolled edge of the center hole, and the silkscreen. I can take some of those other measurements you mentioned, but it'll have to be later. -

Thanks alot for the photos and measurements. They appear very similar to my air cleaner cover. Makes me feel more confident that it's original and I can send it out for re-chroming/silk screening. Any other info on the edge and its height would be appreciated. Thanks again...JoeComment

Joe -- Got your PM; sorry for the delay; working on the wife's '07 Civic Hybrid (don't laugh -- 52 mpg on the interstates), and I get "heavenly" credits that I apply against driving my Corvettes

OK, I laid the A/C cover on a flat surface and put a straight edge across the top center area (which is flat). Caliper measures 1.70" between surface and top of lid. As for the diameter of the center hole, I could just insert a 9/32nds inch drill through it, with maybe a thou of extra rattle.
Could you be a little more specific on details / measurements of the edge ?Comment

Every dimension you measured seems to be the same as mine except the height of the top from the flat surface. Using the straight edge across the top of the air cleaner as you did, I measure 1 1/4" from top to the flat surface not 1.7" as you described.
The edge dimensions I had asked about were the outer top 1" of the cover where it notches to fit over the base. Thanks. JoeComment
