yes, i had two stamps made. i took a sample of lectric limited wires with the stamping on them to the stamp maker and he made the stamps same size as stamping on LL wires. the stamps are a PITA as the wire is convex and the stamps are for a flat surface. it'd be great if u could find a stamp maker who had concave stamps. mike

I literally, within the last 48 hours, put LL date-coded wires on my '61 270hp. They work like gangbusters on the maiden run yesterday.
You do have to take some care in routing and bending them around obstacles and into the various looms and clips.
If you do, then they should be fine. If you use the grease properly in the plug boots they should come off easily and not cause misfires.

frank: i too have had good results with LL plug wires . then problems arise when one removes them for plug replacement. invariably, the carbon core goes to pot and they then are junk. this has happened to me , even when i use the snap on plug boot removal tool. regards, mike

I had my stamps made at the local Staples store.....I carefully rolled the flat stamp (1/8" tall letters....all caps.....regular script....not bold) onto the round Packard 440 wire alternating every 6 inches. "TVRS" one time and "RADIO GM" the next...

They've been on my '59 since 2005 and never missed a lick. Never cost a point with the judges

Are the cars with 440 wires radio delete? Could they be installed on a car with radio and allow it to be heard? Had them on my old 55 Tbird, knocked out all the TV reception when I came up the street!

dan: don't believe packard 440 plug wires were on any corvettes as they left st louis. the ones i have in my c-1 and c-2's do make a little noise in the radio but corvettes were made to be driven. i just turn the radios off and gas it. regards, mike

Mike, thanks. one other question. who sells the good wires and can I get them with tvrs so that it doesn't affect my radio?
