    Black out 67 AO Smith

Hey Guys, I don't usually post here, but could really use some help. I'm doing a little work on a high point 67 A.O. Smith car, and trying to figure out the correct blackout for the female hood latches and cross cable. The judging manual has me totally confused. My questions are.....

1.Were the latches and cable installed prior to blackout on a 67 A. O. Smith body??
    2. If they were NOT, then why does the judging manual say "A.O. Smith bodies exhibit less overspray in this area than St. Louis bodies" ??
    3. Should the cable and latches have some blackout, no blackout, or all blackout???

The car will be judged at the Florida Regional, and don't want to screw it up. Any help is appreciated!!!!

    Mike -

A.O. Smith installed the female hood latches and the cross-cable on their Trim Line, well after blackout; I wouldn't expect to see any paint on those items.

I can't speak to the current wording in the JG, but I think you'll see it presented differently in the next edition.

      Thank you John,
I'm going to clean all of the paint from both the cable and the latches.
There was no deduct at Kissimmee last year, but there was a deduct at the Florida Chapter meet this past weekend. Good catch for the Chapter judges!!!!

      Thanks again.!!
