I am aware that the Judging Reference manual states that optional engine valve covers are of die-cast aluminum with seven longitudinal ribs on top. 1958 models have low-relief script (.030) and 59 & 60 have high-relief (.125 Script)
When did the change over take place. My car was built 2 days before the end of 1958 production and the valve covers have the high relief script. It seems that it is highly likely that they could be original. (The engine was built 3 weeks prior to end of 58 production)
