    70 Lower steering column cover

While disassembling the interior of my 70 we should have taken more detailed pics. I'm not sure what screws are used to attach the lower steering column cover to the dash pad (2 screws) and steering column (1 screw). Any help would be appreciated.

I thought this would be an easy question to have answered, but I didn't recieve any responses. I believe this piece was used on all 69-77 cars. Come on, help a guy out.

      Joe,

on the 69's I have done the screws have been countersunk phillips head #8 thread and #8 head. Most have had a attached countersunk washer. And they were chrome.

Hope this helps to point you in the right direction, Rich

The side screws are chrome, phillips head, #8 sheet metal screws about 7/8" long. They are equipped with a chrome ferrule.

The center screw is identical except about 1/2 as long.

Be sure the center screw does not pierce the turn signal switch wiring harness. If it does, you'll have all kinds of interesting electrical issues.
