When were the 1966 427 A/C compressor brackets changed to the 67-up style?

Does anyone know when the first design 1966 427 BB air conditioning compressor mounting brackets were changed to the 1967 and up version?

Were the 66 parts used for the entire model year?

I am thinking possibly they started being used when the second design hoses were phased in. This would have been the same time the 3rd design radiator support came in with two a/c condensor line routing holes in it.

OK, No responses. How about a survey? Can owners of 66 427 air conditioned cars take some pics of your brackets to send me/post?

    Or just describe them

Please reference your Vin or build date of car

I will be sure and share all the findings.

Thanks for all the efforts in advance!

July 20, 1966 car. Believe brackets are original to this car but not 100% positve. If you need more direct pics let me know and I will take some tonight.

I just looked at my previous post pics - they don't tell much. I will get some better ones tonight for you.

This might be what you're looking for...

The '67 AIM documents a running change in C60, on Sheet C1, pertaining to three A/C items: Compressor, Bracket and RPO L79. The date of the change appears to be 8/9/66, but my copy is pretty fuzzy.

The change calls for the compressor to go from 5910654 -> 5910645 with a note to the effect 'bracket revised' on that date and a note stating '122145 RPO L79 ADDED'.

This may or may not be what you're looking for. This was circa '66-67 model year change over. So, you might also want to check the '66 AIM for C60 running changes made during '66 MY production...

Of course, AIM denoted running changes do NOT guarantee that part changes occurred on that date (inventory on hand considerations) and simply establish the earliest possible date(s).

Dave, any chance of seeing closeups of yours? Thanks!

            Hi,
Yes, saw those, the 66 info is pretty vague. I think those revisions are specific to the small block.
Interestingly, on page F307 the L-36 C-60 compressor brackets page it still calls for the earlier brackets, although the drawing actually shows the later brackets, which are different. Last revision date is 12-16-65, which was really just for a bolt change, my sheet is tough to read but it looks like this sheet was drawn on 3-16-65 and released on 5-1-65, again, no revision changes indicating when any changes were made from the early brackets and compressor support. The 67 AIM shows its drawing done on 6-1-66 and released on 6-7-66 which indicates the later brackets.
So was all of 66 using the earlier brackets?

            Can 66 L-36 owners take a look?
            Thanks!
