Well based on my leaf springs 9 or 11; HD or standard,... called a GM Chevrolet dealer, and WOW there reply is my book doesn't go back that far. It only goes back to 1982. Not much help from the GM Chevrolet parts dealer, dumb and dumber. So from what I read is; all the shocks were the same from 1963 to 1982 is that correct? Then can be purchased for around $45.00 from a GM dealer is that correct; but not same as in the 60's?

All the shocks were NOT the same from 1963-82. However, as far as standard suspension shocks go, just about all 63-82 were very similar in original external configuration, except, of course, for "numbers" and "dates". Most of the differences between these shocks were internal.
SERVICE shocks manufactured by Delco were the same, too, until about the late 90's.
The shocks currently available from Delco are #530-315, front, and #530-4, rear. These are also known as GM #88947653 and 88945172, respectively. These are not configured like originals and they are manufactured by an outside supplier, probably Monroe or Gabriel. However, they perform well.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

JOE THANKS FOR CLEARING THIS UP! Would you also know if the shocks that you mentioned are HD or standard and does it matter due to 9 leaf springs for HD or 11 leaf springs for standard?

Bob------
You can use the above-referenced shocks for either standard or HD suspension cars. The front shock part number I mentioned replaces BOTH the standard suspension and F-41 shocks.
For the rear, a different shock was available for F-41/FE-7 until recently. It's no longer available. So, the above-referenced rear shock is all you can get for any 63-82 Corvette from GM or Delco.
Believe me, these shocks will work just fine for any 63-82 Corvette, regardless of suspension and regardless of installed springs. These shocks are gas charged. That type shock was not available for 63-82 PRODUCTION applications. So, in many ways, they represent an improvement over original shocks. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

You didn't mention whether you have a '63 or a '64, but in either case, the standard spring had 9 leaves, and there was no 11-leaf spring.- Top
