Peter,
A year ago you requested photos of the date code on my 67 Rallye Wheels (https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...heels&uid=7584)

Well, I told you then not to hold your breath, hopefully you are doing well and you can now take a breath!! All four wheels are the same as shown in the photo. I take it that there was only a year stamp as that was all could find on each wheel.

Rick, If you drink two cups of coffee and look real close there is a month stamp. Looks like a straight up/down 4 then 67 sideways to the left.

Are these wheels DG or DC stamped?

They are DC. I thought there was someting under the JK, will have to take a closer look later today.

My early rally wheels with a "B" stamp show "8" and "66" for month and year.

Chris - Exactly what I would expect as far as the date stamp (August 1966) on a B code rallye wheel. I have 5 B code wheel on my Sept 66 built 67, VIN 1476. Pete

Tim,
Upon closer examination, I can detect a "4" under the JK on 3 of the 4 wheels. The stamping for the 4 is very light and not a total stamp, in other words the entire 4 was not detectable. I have a June built 67.

My car is VIN 183 and has a TON of August dated parts on it. Sept 30th build date, according to the tank sticker.

Rick, I drink my java black and strong..I am seeing that 4 in the date code clear again this morning.

Chris, My 67 is a St Louis body build B23 (September) and I have two DC wheels along with the three B stamped wheels. Are you saying all five of your rims are B stamped..

Pete, I need a working correct radiator cap for my car..

Tim, I have 4 "B" wheels and then one DC. The DC isn't original to the car, as it has a casting date after the assembly date of the car. I'm assuming the car originally came with 5 "B" wheels, but I can't be absolutely sure.

There was a nice survey article in the Restorer a while back. If you have the "67 CD" from NCRS, search for Rally wheel and you'll find it. That survey shows that only "B" wheels were found up through at least the couple thousand cars. I don't remember exactly what VIN showed the transition away from "B".
