    condition of engine oil pan

I believe I have the original three step, center drain, oil pan for my 300HP engine. The inside of the pan was in poor condition, probably due to old oil residue sitting inside for several years while the car was not used. I had the pan re-plated, but the inside of the pan is still not as good as it should be. The outside looks solid, but the inside plating appears thin.
Would someone have an opinion which direction I might go, like possibly knowing of a vendor who might have a new pan that looks like the original, or another plater that could do a solid re-plating inside and outside of the pan?

These pans were never originally plated, either inside or out. If you've had yours plated, that's not a bad thing. However, I would not worry, at all, about any "thin" plating on the inside. Want more internal protection? Paint the inside of the pan with rustoleum or GE glyptal paints. These are the same products used by "racers" to paint the inside of lifter valleys to improve oil drain-back.

Joe, I appreciate the information. It would be great to keep the original pan in service.
