3 Speed Bracket for C-1 Crossmember

I have tried to take a picture of the transmission crossmember from my '56. I had a 3 speed in it and am going back with another 3 speed transmission. Is the bracket pictured correct for a 3 speed and what should the finish be on this metal part? The bracket I have looks possibly home made and I would like to know what the correct part looks like. Brooks - I took some pics of the crossmember on my '57 which I'm attaching. It is installed on the car so couldn't get the same angles as your showing. From what I can see, the two do look similar. I'm not sure if my paint color is correct so don't rely on it for correctness.

Brooks, cross member looked correct but top mount bracket is "U" shaped. Photo from Corvette Central catalog. Gary....

My thanks to both Gary and Gerry for your pictures and input. I am now sure that I have an incorrect transmission mounting bracket on my transmission crossmember. I will now order the correct one. Brooks Glover (2141)
