Can someone show me the difference between 65/66 tele rag joint and 65/66 standard rag joint? Also can they be interchanged without any problems?

Re: 65-66 tele rag joint??
Here is the 1965-66 Flexible Coupling for the Telescoping Column
This flex coupling is an all riveted design. The flange that connects to the input shaft on the gear is a typical, short, "bow tie" flange. The original Saginaw drawing calls out that the coupling assembly should be painted black. However, no such specification is on the standard column drawing.
Here is the 1965-66 Flexible Coupling for the Standard (non-adjustable) Steering Column
This flex coupling has two riveted and two bolted connections. It uses the same flange 5690811 on both sides of the assembly.

Re: 65-66 tele rag joint??
I was going to start a new thread on this subject, but the above engineeering drawings fit right in with my question. Which is, has any one seen, purchased, or otherwise evaluated the (apparently newly released) 65-66 tele ragjoint (steering coupler). I was searching the Eckler's online catalog & under the heading new products, there was what appears to be a pretty good reproduction of the 65-66 tele ragjoint. The bottom view even showed a somewhat legible part number. I'm no expert on this subject, but I know many of you are. There are three pictures on the site. I wish there was one that shows more of the upper portion of the item, so I could see the rivets better. They list it as #55762 @ $199.00
Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks, Glen.- Top

Re: 65-66 tele rag joint??
William, there is a pic of a Tele coupling in the new '66 Judging Manual.
The upper an lower castings for the coupling are the same on a Standard Column and for the lower casting of the Tele Column.
The upper Tele casting is different from the other three examples. (longer).
