The answer is a ton of them. Mostly fakes though. Nice thing about the recession is guys at Spring and Fall Carlisle quit asking how much it cost to put a nice fake fuel injection setup on their steel Chevy.
Those calls have just about gone away. Thanks be to God.

when i was restoring my 57 210 post 250 hp 3 speed, i seem to recall chevy sold about 1100 FI equipped steel chevys. they have the rare parts like the 57 corvette FIs have. toughest item is the sending unit in the fuel tank and the micro-switch to activate the electo-vac. ole gary pronesti is the 57 FI pass car guru.mike

The reason I ask..is I just received the original blue prints for the special air inlet scoop for the 57 FI Chevy with this feature. Also included are the blueprints showing the modifications needed to the hood.

Your count of 40 could very well be right. Rare indeed.

The Blueprints were drawn late December 1956 early January 1957.
